Description

Engineering Project: System-Level Thermal Simulation and Structural Integration of the Jetson Orin Nano Thermal Control System in EventSat

EventSat is a 6U CubeSat developed at the Chair of Spacecraft Systems for space object observation. Its payload pairs an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano with a neuromorphic camera. In vacuum, the Jetson's heat must be conducted passively to the spacecraft panels and radiated to space.

Building on the work of two previous students, this project completes the payload thermal design for flight. You will extend the existing ANSYS thermal model to system level and verify margins for worst-case hot and cold orbits and all operational modes. You will also design, analyse and test the fixation of the heat dissipation system to the CubeSat structure. The work closes with a correlation of the thermal model against test data.
