Description

The Chair of Astrodynamics is developing small-scale spacecraft demonstrators to support research and education in spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control.

We are looking for a student assistant (HiWi) to support the development and operation of experiments in our laboratory and workshop, and to assist researchers and thesis students with a variety of tasks.

The work will be embedded in a collaborative research environment together with thesis students and researchers at the Chair.

We offer an 8h/week HiWi contract. Applicants must be able to commit at least until the end of the winter semester 2026/27, ideally longer.

This is an onsite positionat our Chair on the TUM Ottobrunn campus; regular presence onsite is required.

Requirements
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks

  • Independent and well-organized way of working

Beneficial qualifications include:

  • Experience with CAD software and 3D printing

  • At least some programming skills in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python, or Julia

  • Some prior hands-on experience with robotics, aerospace hardware, or laboratory test systems

Not all of these qualifications are mandatory; but the more, the better.
