Description

We are looking for a motivated student assistant to support the deployment and testing of a velocity-planning-based trajectory repair method on our autonomous research vehicle EDGAR.
The goal of this project is to bring an existing trajectory repair framework from simulation closer to real-world autonomous driving.

This can also be transferred to guided research/master thesis project.

We offer:
- Hands-on experience with a real autonomous research vehicle
- Flexible working hours up to 20h/week
- Further transfer to a thesis is possible

Requirements

Your tasks include:
- Supporting the integration of the method into a ROS 2-based software pipeline
- Testing the method in Autoware simulation
- Supporting real-world experiments on EDGAR

Essential skills:
- Good programming skills in Python and/or C++, comfortable working with Ubuntu and Git
- Experience with ROS 2, Autoware.Universe, RViz, Docker, and Docker Compose (preferred not essential)
(- A valid German driving license is a plus)
