- Description
Space is becoming increasingly important to the prosperity of societies on Earth. In the longer term, large-scale space projects (e.g. lunar settlement, space-based solar power, space exploration) could be deployed in space to the benefit of humanity. However, space is also rapidly becoming a field of conflict. It thus becomes critical to explore the interaction between these ambitious long-term, large-scale space projects and conflict in space.
The interested student shall investigate:
the various long-term uses of space,
conflict in space and the various drivers and trends affecting it,
the interactions and mutual connections between the two.
The thesis would be mostly performed remotely, with occasional visits to the UniBw Campus in Neubiberg.
