Beschreibung

Our industry partner in machine manufacturing, Harro Höfliger, is planning to develop their control software using Git.
Legacy projects are still maintained in SVN, parallel to the new versioning in Git.
This increases the complexity of the software development processes.
Switching to the decentralised version control of Git enables agile development with sophisticated technologies like CI/CD- and Test Pipelines.
Due to fundamental differences of the versioning systems, the control software architecture may need to be reengineered.

Together with the experts of Harro Höfliger, your tasks will be to:

  • Identify structures/code smells of the current PLC software that may limit or hinder the potential benefits of using Git
  • Analyse developer behaviour and compare best practices between SVN and Git
  • Develop concepts and compare tools for the migration between version control systems
Voraussetzungen
  • Extensive knowledge in PLC programming (ST , FBD)
  • Fluent in German
  • Independent and self-reliant work ethic
