- Beschreibung
We develop Growth & Remodeling (G&R) models of the human heart. The goal is to describe growth processes that occur under chronic hypertension or after myocardial infarction, to understand them through computational models, and to test treatment strategies on them.
A promising extension of our models is the integration of intracellular signaling networks, as shown in Paukner et al.: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10237-024-01884-w This makes the representation of the underlying processes more mechanistic and allows us to test different treatment strategies.
The position covers:
- Literature review and adaptation of the signaling network from arterial to cardiac G&R
- Integration of the network into 4C (several options, to be discussed together)
- Verification against published examples
Up to 20 hours per week until the end of the semester. Follow up project could be possible.
- Voraussetzungen
Programming Skills (C++/Python) would be of benefit.
