About us and the Position
The Professorship of Lunar and Planetary Exploration is a young and rapidly growing research group at the ASG Campus in Ottobrunn. We focus on both experimental and theoretical studies of the Moon and its resources.
During the winter semester, we teach an exciting course:
- Spacecraft Thermal Analysis and Test (Bachelor/Master level, practical course)
Providing hands-on experience in the thermal modelling of spacecraft and their environments.
As a student teaching assistant, you will support the organisation and delivery of our courses in the winter term, with a primary focus on the practical course. Additionally, you will support our ongoing and future research projects in space exploration, with a focus on thermal engineering and simulation.
Your Tasks
In the context of the Spacecraft Thermal Analysis and Test course:
- Assist with course orgnisation and support instructors during lectures, exercises, and lab work.
- Providing technical support during the practical sessions.
- Assisting students with thermal modelling tasks and analysis tools.
Tasks for research projects will be defined based on the needs of individual projects.

- A contract of up to 8 hours per week with standard compensation based on your qualifications.

- Voraussetzungen
Requirements
- Enrolled as a Bachelor or Master student at TUM.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of thermal engineering and heat transfer.
- Availability to work on-site at the Ottobrunn campus, especially during the practical course time slot.
- Very good command of the English language.
