Why bother at all?
Let’s be honest: during your studies, presenting is often one of those things you just “somehow get through.” But later, in industry, it becomes one of the most important skills you can have. Presentations decide whether your idea gets heard, whether you land a project—or whether your work simply disappears in the noise. Not because you’re not good enough, but because great results often stay invisible without a strong presentation.
At TUM, especially in engineering programs, you don’t get much structured training for this. I know that all too well—and that’s exactly why I want to give you the chance to improve your presentation skills. The only requirement: you study at TUM.
How does it work?
Super simple:
-
You send me a message—with a bit of lead time.
-
We find a slot together—either at the Chair of Automotive Technology or online.
-
We start with a quick introduction.
-
Then you give your presentation:
-
Duration: 5–20 minutes (agreed beforehand)
-
Topic: completely up to you (e.g., thesis presentation, project, etc.)
-
-
After that, you’ll get honest, constructive, and detailed feedback on your delivery and your slides.
The entire session lasts approximately 45 minutes and is completely free for you.
Why I’m doing this – and why you can trust me
During my Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering studies at TUM, I barely had any real presentation practice—apart from the Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis defenses. I actually learned how to present later: during my MBA, in a consulting project, and through several rhetoric courses offered by the Graduate School.
Today, I’m doing my PhD at the Chair of Automotive Technology. I teach, supervise students, and give presentations regularly myself. At our chair, all PhD students present their work twice a year—which is exactly where I learned how valuable good, honest feedback really is. I’m happy to pass that on because I know how much it helps.
If you’d like to improve your presentation skills without pressure, just reach out. I’m looking forward to meeting you and working together on your presentation.
