Beschreibung

We are seeking a student assistant (HiWi) to support the technical implementation of student projects in our interdisciplinary seminar IDP-X during the Winter Term 2026/27.

IDP-X runs for 14 weeks and guides interdisciplinary student teams through a user-centered design project with social impact. The teams develop and evaluate functional prototypes across four phases: Explore, Ideate, Prototype, and Evaluate.

Your task will be to advise students on the technical realization of their ideas. You will support them in selecting suitable technologies, developing hardware and software prototypes, connecting hardware and software components, and troubleshooting technical problems throughout the semester. You will also provide feedback during coaching sessions, workshops, and project milestones.

Voraussetzungen

Relevant skills include:

  • Experience with hardware and/or software prototyping
  • Programming skills, for example in Python, C/C++, C#, or JavaScript
  • Experience with microcontrollers and prototyping platforms, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi
  • Integration of sensors, actuators, and other electronic components
  • Connection between hardware and software through serial communication, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, APIs, or similar interfaces
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems and explain solutions clearly
  • Interest in interdisciplinary teamwork and supporting students with different technical backgrounds

Experience with app, web, Unity, CAD, 3D printing, or rapid prototyping is an advantage but not required.
