Beschreibung

Also possible as IDP, research internship (Forschungspraxis), guided research, etc.

This research focuses on designing and developing a wearable phone holder for the SmartAIs navigation system, which assists blind and visually impaired individuals in outdoor mobility. The phone holder will be worn on the chest and must meet specific requirements, such as maintaining a particular tilt angle towards the sidewalk to optimize camera positioning, compatibility with various phone models as well as accessibility for blind and visually impaired people.

The project involves researching and evaluating existing solutions, conducting user interviews to refine design criteria, and developing multiple prototypes. The prototypes will be tested and iteratively improved based on user feedback. The research will follow the Double Diamond design process, ensuring a structured approach from problem definition to solution implementation.

This research is conducted in collaboration with the startup SmartAIs. https://www.smartais.de/
