Welcome to the AVS (Autonomous Vehicle Systems) lab!
In our lab, we focus on autonomous driving, specifically on developing software modules for autonomous vehicles, ethical behavior, and the practical application of algorithms in real-world scenarios using real vehicles.
We are looking for a Research Assistant (HiWi) to support us in our F1TENTH program. F1TENTH is an exciting 1:10 autonomous driving format, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real autonomous vehicles.
Currently, we are looking for support in the following areas:
- Sensor Integration and Algorithm Adjustment: Implement our autonomous cars' new 3D LiDAR sensor. This task includes modifying existing software to accommodate the new sensor and exploring innovative applications for the enhanced data it provides.
- Lecture Improvements: Refine our F1TENTH practical course for the upcoming winter semester. Responsibilities include revising the curriculum, improving the organizational structure, and updating teaching materials to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Tutoring: Act as a tutor during the course, providing guidance and support to students, assisting with lab sessions.
- Voraussetzungen
Requirements:
- Coding experience (Python, C++)
- Framework experience (ROS 1/2, Git)
- CAD experience (Inventor, Catia, etc.)
- Knowledge in Automotive Engineering and Autonomous Driving
- Curious mindset
