Description

Migrating a non-English codebase, based on real code from SOMIC and Schneider, to a unified English standard is more than a cosmetic change: it’s a strategic move to reduce technical debt and unlock long-term clarity.
Over time, mixed languages, inconsistent terminology, and implicit assumptions creep into systems, making them harder to understand, maintain, and evolve.

This work centers on systematically identifying where language changes are required and what impact they have.
You analyze naming conventions, comments, user-facing texts, and interfaces to locate non-English elements and inconsistent terminology.
These findings are then grouped, quantified, and translated into concrete tasks: from renaming and refactoring to interface alignment.
The result is a structured, actionable migration plan that turns linguistic technical debt into a clear backlog, enabling steady progress without disrupting existing functionality.
