Beschreibung

Are you interested in deepening your knowledge/experience of structural dynamics? Well, I cannot think of a mechanical engineer not mastering dynamics.

Here, you have the opportunity to benchmark the most advanced model order reduction (MOR) techniques for mechanical systems.

You can use this knowledge on whatever application in your engeneering future (automotive, aerospace, machining, buildings).

Milestones:
- Literature study about classic and advanced model order reduction for linear dynamical structures (e.g. Craig-Bampton, Modal Truncation Augmentation...)
- Set a numerical benchmark (application case) for the study of MOR (Abaqus, Ansys or Python/Matlab)
- Implementation and use of chosen MOR techniques
- Evaluation on usability (implementation), efficiency (computational cost) and accuracy (static and dynamical solution accuracy)

Plus, you have the opportunity to learn at the best Chair of TUM! :)

Voraussetzungen

- experience in Python/Matlab

- knowledge about finite elements (preferably experience with Abaqus/Ansys)

- knowledge and interest in structural dynamics
