Beschreibung

Are you interested in deepening your knowledge/experience of structural dynamics?

Do you know that the future of structural dynamics will be nonlinear?

No? Then, you have to join us and learn as much as you can about numerical solution for strongly nonlinear problem!

Milestones:
- Literature study about numerical techniques for nonlinear structural dynamics (Shooting, Harmonic Balance)
- Implementation of Shooting algorithm in a python Toolbox
- Application of Shooting algorithm to various nonlinear test-cases (Duffing oscillator) and comparison performances to pre-existing implementation (Harmonic Balance)
- Implementation Shooting in Abaqus following a co-simulation approach
- Ideas to combine Shooting with Harmonic Balance in an efficient manner
- optional: study of combining model reduction to fast solution algorithm

You have the opportunity to learn at the best Chair of TUM! with some of the most experienced guy in the topic! :)

Voraussetzungen

- experience in Python (preferably)

- knowledge about finite elements (preferably experience with Abaqus)

- knowledge/interest in structural dynamics
